where with each untroubled step we walked away our youth.
The air carried the sound of crashing waves as the tide rolled in,
yet my lips can still retrace the imprint of her kiss.

Artfully done and well crafted, as all poems should do, yours tell an amazing story that flows effortlessly with every word. Each unique but always at the right spot! Well played, Good Job!

Quite honestly, this poem is splendid. The imagery you use; the shores, the beige sand, this imagery serves to lead the reader right to the essence of the poem. That's the gift of poetry - the use of imagery as pathways to a greater essence within the poem itself. And what is even more remarkable is your precision. I did not feel lost as I do in the poems of some other authors I've read.

This is an awesome poem! ! I am a fan of free verse and this is a wonderfully written poem, but I also like to read all types of poetry although I find it hard to stick to a certain form of any kind when writing poetry! ! Thanks for inviting me to read! !

Hi Hunter, Although not a fan of freeform verse, your poem is very descriptive, and allows me to walk with you along that sand. However, you should try to work within the disciplines of rhyme and metre, and you may find that what is merely good, suddenly becomes rather awesome. David.

'a verse so delicate that the words could hardly bridge the gap between us': That line is as good as it (poetry) gets! You are generous in your elation also-you wonder if the hardworking sailors are lucky enough to have a love like yours in their lives. It's a great love poem with a wonderfully colourful background.
