Being Human Again Poem by Hebert Logerie

Being Human Again

When are we going to be human again?
When will we be able to safely shake hands
To show true love to our siblings and friends
To give high five to our neighbors and children?
When are going to be absolutely normal again?
We're in quarantine now, everyone must stay home
To slow, to stop the spread of the deadly virus
Right now, we must wash our hands with foam
Antibiotic soap, in order to kill the new coronavirus
Which is everywhere, ubiquitous and deathly
We must practice social distancing. This is new
Yeah! This is a novel behavior to keep our sanity
We must wear masks, gloves, helmets like a crew
Of astronauts, much like a bunch of nuts, heading
To the moon. This is an unprecedented and unordinary
Time. We had it good before this chaos, this anarchy
Now, people are hurt, coughing, suffering and dying
How many must die before we become normal again?
Presently, the majority of us are following the instructions
In order to flatten the curve. We must keep on taking actions
Against this new coronavirus to return safely to our haven
We must not breathe or inhale the deadly micro droplets
Or the elusive particles of Covid-19. We hope better days
Are ahead. That day, we're going to have a parade with clarinets
Drums, etcetera. And we'll blissfully dump the masks in the trays.

That day, we're going to have a parade. The elusive particle has threatened the world. We should be very careful and maintain peace. This is an amazing poem shared here.
