Being good is not always good
Some people take it as a sign of weakness
Instead of reciprocating treat you rude.

As if they have a right and you don't
Spoiling your good mood.

Being good is not always good
Meekness is taken as weakness
And yet all we all want is to be understood.

Instead of reciprocating treat you rude
Patronising pettiness personified
Even the language used is crude

Being good is not always good
You become someone everyone finds loathsome
The fall guy in the neighborhood

So it pays to stand your ground and demand equal share of the food
Otherwise they take advantage of you.
