Being All Alone Poem by Randy McClave

Being All Alone

I wished that I was all alone
But, then I wish that I was a clone,
Then I would always be smiling and contented be
I would then be so very calm and happy.
We would always enjoy the very same things,
As only we know what true love and happiness brings.

I am a very outgoing person which is true
But, many times I wish for me, and not you,
I like being all by myself
Like the beautiful decanter on the shelf.
But, sadly the environment dictates how I must behave,
And unto who I must be a slave.

Sometimes I am loud, sometimes I am quiet
Most of the times I'm peaceful, sometimes I want to riot,
So, to any situation I know I will always have to adjust
As a woman does, with a bra on her bust.
Those are the times I want to turn up,
Sometimes a rock in hand, sometimes a coffee cup.

There are times and there are moments
When life gives you an extra bonus,
When through someone else's eyes you get to look
Or when you allow yourself just to read a good book.
Sometimes it's the best not to be known,
Then you're allowed to process your own thoughts all alone.
