Behind The Smile Poem by Bartholomew Arkoh Boamah Sarbah

Behind The Smile

Behind the smile, a deceitful soul,
A viper preying on innocent foal,
With bibles, false prophets,
Gambling on the troubles of paupers

Behind the smile, a story untold,
Of secrets kept and truths unrolled.
Fraud, a game played too well,
In a lonely world where hearts dwell

Eyes that twinkle, a facade so clever,
Masking the dagger that pierces forever.
Words like honey, so sweet and light,
Yet beneath it, a vulture takes flight

Behind the smile, with gleams of gold,
Lies a tale of treachery, untold.
Pretense weaves a veil so strong,
Hiding the truth, masking the wrong.

So gaze beyond the surface grin,
Peer into the soul, look deep within.
For behind the smile, in shadows cast,
Lies a wolf waiting to be unmasked.

Then in the mirror a smile gleams so wide,
But behind it, a heart seared, denied.
Swept in a dance of cunning guise,
Concealing the ache with careful lies

And in the shadows where no light may reach,
Lies a soul burdened with a heavy breach.
Seemingly well but worn and torn apart,
Behind the smile woven with delicate art.

Masked in laughter, concealed in jest,
A tale of anguish, unexpressed.
Veneer, a cloak donned with care,
Hides the wounds too deep to bear

Eyes that sparkle, yet with sorrow gleam,
Concealing a pain like a silent scream.
Words that flow with effortless grace,
Yet carry a weight too hard to face.

So be kind to those with smiles so bright,
For behind the smile, lies a silent night.
Reach out with love, break down the walls,
For behind the smile, a wounded lamb that calls
