They come in groups
They come with pans
Some ring bells too
Some have twisted legs
Some have twisted hands
They sing in chorus songs
From old Hindi movies
Some are dark, some are white
Some have sores all
Over the bodies
Some have flies whining
Around their unwashed faces
They seem happy together
With their bad luck
Both men and women
They wear tattered clothes
Gifted by middle class people
To earn good luck
And nothing bad should
Happen to their children
They get blessing
Of these poor beggars
You may not like them
But they are part of our lives
A touching expression has been made on beggars, their children, clothes and the way of begging. The concluding lines are very impressive. It may be cited here...You may not like them / But they are part of our lives. Great work.10
