Arguably one of the most frigtening experiences one can experience upon either waking from cardio-thoracic surgery or, worse...Coma....! I have 1st hand experience with the former...so I can appreciate this work, perhaps even more than the norm...You have depicted the event & consequence/reaction, as well as that haunting echoes sound, oh so well, young lady!
