Sue, this is a heartfelt poem whose content I can relate to so easily - the story of so many partnerships that grow sad and destructive. Your metre is so simple and direct, this has the lyrical feeling of a poem by William Blake and we are led along by it willingly and easily, deceptively simply in fact. Buon'lavoro amica mia!
