3) " It doesn't matter neither way "… the double negative in the line accentuates eagerness of the poet to escape the cold depressive days of December and to welcome the warmer January. That is really poetic.
2) " the dreary days of December…made me melancholy.." but the warmer days of January with a New Year Promise are close by..

New year brings a lot of hopes. We kinda wish that things would change for the better. They might not change but there's nothing wrong in hoping. And maybe if we change, the world will look new and different as well. Beautiful and natural!
