Because I'm Yours Poem by Mark. A Heathcote

Because I'm Yours

I've been holding my breath.
I'm near the end like never before.
But I've been holding my breath.
On borrowed breath because I'm yours

I've still got a little hope and life left.
Because I'm yours, because I'm yours
I can still squeeze a little air into my lungs.
And the inertia of expanding and retracting

Although it hurts
It is beginning to remind me and teach me
You and life are for me.
So, don't ever leave me.

Because I'm living on borrowed breath
Because I'm yours
Oh, I've still got a little yearning in me.
And I'm willing to steal what I need.

If only to lose my mind
If only I could hear my heart beat once more.
And sing like never before
Because I'm yours,
Because I'm yours,
Because I'm yours.
