Because Poem by Micron Jan

Because

Because you once feigned love,
Because your arms were traps, not care,
Because you left me shattered,
Because you thrived on my despair.

You built my trust to burn it,
Whispered lies to eager ears,
Turned friends to foes, tried to isolate me,
Fed the world my pain as fear.

But some stood firm, saw the truth,
Refused your poison, scorn, and guile.
Through tear-stained eyes I now behold
The hollow monster behind your smile.

A villain draped in false affection,
A serpent that feasts on trust,
Yet I remain, unbroken, untamed,
While you lost friends and are left confused.
