Beauty's Sceptre Poem by james watkin

Beauty's Sceptre

One spring-time too many a poser
Beneath a sill bemoans.
Pawn in run of tastes, cyclic
Year itself condones.

Bondage of faculties pledged
To cleome to perfect.
Tis slippery in the earth
Beauty's sceptre to erect!
