Bearing The Burden Of One's Years Poem by james watkin

Bearing The Burden Of One's Years

Fence, wall, even a mother's
Obstinate decree
Can be won over.
But there's no surmounting this;
Child, when you're older.

A bath's slippery hindrance
Put in the way of
Age; and its lament.
Even the climb into bed
Relief will prevent.
