An enjoyable piece; loved the concept of this poem; change, for the sake of change, is not always good; wisdom must always be applied in the daily decisions made; wonderfully conceived. -Joe Breunig, author/poet, Reaching Towards His Unbounded Glory
You are quite right. modernism has given us some horrible things which we want to forget. Nice words!
Todate water it holds...............to date? i wish my wife could take your advice and stop having parts of our house torn out and replaced with new! ! ! the old was good enough for me! thanks for sharing. :) bri
Good reading... poems that read like self informed can span bilingual gulfs with less or free syntax and personal relationships... Thanks Lee
All the gold ends up in the houses of the wise this you've told....iip
Old is really gold if it's the purest form of everything and some old may not be gold. You've penned the philosophy in a nice composition.
Some olden traditions r golden forever, old like gold n never fading.
Old is gold for certain period of time only and it has been override with new invention and ideas, but this poem is good and great to admire the old of recent days..
Very good idea. I found it myself by buying something because it was new, but the old one was much better. However, it was too late. This is how we learn for next time in everything.
Very well, the starting shows how creativity is used in this work really nice
The ideas expressed here are valid. Any individual or society that attempts dramatic and extreme change usually fails or has to suppress its people and one cannot clench their fist forever. Many products are poorly manufactured now with designed obsolescence and are ephemeral. A mix is good where appropriate. I write this comment on and I.phone 5 while sitting on my bed in a room with furniture more that 60 years old and still works well. Attitudes too and mores if they are valid keep them if hurtful and discriminatory ditch them.
Firstly, I agree with your points against Gulsher's arguments, I was born and grew up in a place where people used to respect and care about each other, but as I was growing up I noticed that things were changing and most of those changes has thrown humanity out the window... Love your poem and totally agree with the great message in it. Siya_! !
Beautiful poem! This is what I always believe! In the name of modernism, when we throw time tested values and modes of behaviour to the winds, the posterity will be in peril! Changes are inevitable and necessary, but for people of my generation old is always gold! ! Greatly enjoyed! !
u deserve all the trophies u won. i honestly envy u. got ur point and agree with u
A very clever and thoughtful poem Now the new is important forgetting the past which holds many truths but the young never learn form history their too involved in making it. If we throw the baby out with the bath water we hold nothing sacred. Thanks for sharing 10/10
How u measure change depends on person to person. What u may find trivial another may find important. I tink modernism has brought some bad changes in norms n behaviour. As for aggressive natures man seems to b reverting to barbaric times true.
......loved reading this one....you are definitely onto something...it's true the older things seem to last longer... and newer things break faster, cause they are made to break....think I will hold onto my old things and buy old things, too :)
