Be A Man Poem by Ryano ; ,

Be A Man

Words are very simple
& nimble in flight
They're not the spoken language
Of zombies in the night

They cling on & sway back & forth
Like a straw hammock in a storm
Lying within powerful gusts
Mood swinging against the norm
Pillars rattle
Its hollow inside rings
Life's godly force
Tugs their strings & changes form

The short straw goes further damp
For them, the only hope
Is now at its loose end
Hanging by a rope

We battle our own storms
With nimble limbs in flight
But run the other way
From moaning zombies in the night

With simple words
We count our blessings
On another storm fled
Praying in grave stillness
Stood around an open bed
We never heard the words
Hiding in the pillars
& ringing in their heads

‘Be a man' they said
Be a man instead
Be a man
