Baziru Poem by Chukwuebuka Adebayo

Baziru

Rating: 3.0

This strap has outwalked it own sole—
Only death and nakedness remain;
I don't know how i got here too
But I can only share you my story
David, the Strength in flying dry leaf;
Few beers and some sticks of cigar will do you,
Why go to war for a man that wants you die?
Risked your life for token paid from a car washed?
Like it is a big sin to be rich here
People who loves you are not in the struggle
Sons of men are now wiser in their ways
Their science can see the back of their heads
My dear friend with a lot of respect
A bad man always trying to do good.

We felt this was our soul in another fair man,
Then we exchanged your name for baziru;
My dialects are crude, how do you tell them apart
To know for sure I learned it myself?
I just want to travel to your town
And find there the roadway
At which spirit goes out of man
I've reached a point in my life
When I was sad and alone too
Tried to find love in the world but couldn't get
The devil just trying to enter heaven
Some people pay good money for casket
But I write this lines to keep your memory.
Rest in peace Fella, I don't forget you.
