Banquet Poem by Ojeikpo Elijah

Banquet

A hall of Fame, adorned with splendor and delight,
Where royalty convenes in grand display,
A banquet held beneath the starry night,
Where nobles gather in majestic array.

With sumptuous feasts and goblets filled with wine,
The royal court indulges in delight,
Their laughter echoes through the chambers fine,
As minstrels play their melodies so bright.

The king and queen, in regal robes arrayed,
Preside over this feast with grace and cheer,
Their presence fills the room with warmth and shade,
As courtiers bow in reverence and sincere.

The air is filled with joy and merriment,
As courtiers dance and share in lively cheer,
Their hearts uplifted by the king's content,
A night of revelry, free from any fear.

So let us raise our voices in a toast,
To the royal banquet and its festive cheer,
May this night linger in our memories most,
A moment of bliss, forever held dear.
