The waters rise the skies grow dark
Homes are lost and hearts left stark,
The rivers rage and mountains weep
As life is swept in currents deep.
Children float on fragile hope
While cattle roam with none to cope,
The land is drowning inch by inch
With every wave our souls do flinch.
The cries for aid reach out in vain
As hunger bites and brings more pain,
And if this flood shall never cease
Our land may sink with no release.
In this despair we seek the light
But all we see is endless night,
A future lost a country's plea
To save us from this endless sea.
