Hi Malabika, Jibananda Das, the most known Bangla poet, after Tagore, is well known to Keralites. There are translations of most of his works in our language, Malayalam. Dear Poet, I can see how well-read you are in both Malayalam and English - you have read Banalata Sen which is the most famous poem by Jibanananda Das, in Malayalam! I am delighted that my translation is the first one in English you read! There must be many other translations, but even I haven't read any other. To me, the poem has a mysterious appeal, and I have sincerely tried to keep the essence of this beautiful, romantic poem. Thank you.
