How true is this... That we only ever hear of the tyrannical, unbelievable, disrespected, deceitful and if we are really lucky one diddy human interest story at the end of the news, just so we don't trot off and have nightmares... It would be fabulous if there was a ten minute programme a day of goodwill. I think the news has always been under the misconception that all we want is doom and gloom. How wrong they are as on Facebook, thousands a day look forward to the nice clips downloaded by whimp.com... Great write dear poet. Thank you karen
So heart-wrenching. I especially love the lines: All deeds of warmth and lightness Unreported because they are What is right in the every day! I have always wondered why the news only reports misery and pain in the world and maybe that is the answer. Although I disagree with the last line; things that are good and true are not miracles but humans trying their best to be wonderful to each other. But then again, maybe the kindness in humans is a miracle in itself.
danny, i'm not sure if this poem is giving some credit to a supreme creator; i don't believe in God anymore..... though it would not shock me if i someday felt i found proof of such a thing. sometimes it is tempting to once again believe. a lot of your lines i did not fully understand, but i follow and liked reading the following: Like photons shine unnoticed, And great good things hard to explain Perhaps fortune of randomness Happen every moment, hidden on the main Babes are born, the sick pull through Accidents don’t occur contrary to circumstance etc. thanks for sharing. and there ARE positive-focused publications out there but i guess they need to be searched for by those who are fed up with the negative realities of life. people who see their news on newspaper stands and at store checkout counters need to look elsewhere. but, perhaps, the tales of inconvenience and misery so common in many publications are uplifting to many as they point out to many of us that our lives COULD be much worse. bri
