Backstabbing Poem by Victor Okechukwu Anyaegbuna

Backstabbing

From the highest of the high
to the lowest of the low
Nemesis trends in unrestricted drive
cascading with effrontery
through ordeals that brave cowards
enmeshed in notorious bit

The beautiful days are gone forever
followed by a receding future
where mandrills bake sorrow and death
that steal the wealth of the cock
to willfully avail their progeny
in untraceable ancestral woes.
The grave's sudden and solemn call
cannot atone to pamper their rue.
