Back In Life's Natural State Poem by james watkin

Back In Life's Natural State

Lady, ere, what for elegance
Had, grown you up in
As I, as stiffly confidant
To strike roots, begin
Snobbish, haughty, larkspur-flowered
And for a larch sprout
Each pose, if seen, time-shadowing
Laughed at, sillier.
There, grassed, as girl, boy, together
Real, rolling about.
