Bachelor Day Poem by Hans Raj Sharma

Bachelor Day

A thought-
Thought provoking
Happy ‘Unmarried Day'
Wishing to all of you
Some may or may not
Yet-
Unhappy since married.
Married-unmarried
Happy-unhappy
So, I console!

What a pleasure!
Being unmarried
Unchecked unlimited-
Luck favours, so the stars
No stress, no strain, no pain
Parents get burden free
Never, self-lonely-feel.
A nice time:
Around the clock
With
Face book or WhatsApp
Countless new friends
Readily thereto chat.

A celebration...!
At other's cost.
No fear, no tear
Of broken relations
Or indulging in conflicts
Of domestic-violence.
No havoc, no headache
Of God's act:
Leaving
The spouse in lurch
Dying in an accident
Or unnatural death.

No worry, no hurry
If, again left alone
Since, one comes alone
And goes alone
A large number
Of couples prefer
Prefer to live alone.
No wonder-
Both he and she
Escape, responsibilities
Building thereby
A mixed support system.

No boundaries needed
Needed no demarcation
Very simple and subtle
Using humour, enjoy life.
Why, then opt for-
Chosen imprisonment?

It's not a gospel-
You're at liberty
At your own free will.
