It is not for nothing that he does not leave us.
He loves to rest his head on mother's bosom, and cannot ever

A powerful ending to the poem, showing that the baby is very vulnerable and it, like everybody else in the world, all need someone to love us,

Baby know all manner of wise words, though few on earth can understand their meaning....Upon the birth of both my daughters, I felt they knew so much more than they ever let on. As though they were here to teach me. How strange it is that a man that I have virtually nothing in common with, who died years before I was born, could read my heart and mind so accurately. Especially when you consider so few people are able to do so and they are living today!

Baby is the Human Soul, which has descended from the Heavens, the realm of serene bliss, to bring joy to this sultry world of many sufferings. Soul is eternally free and unattached. It has unlimited riches of gold and pearl in its heavenly kingdom. The soul can any day detach itself from the bodily cage and go back to its joyful kingdom. But it has chosen to remain in this world, in the lap of Mother Nature, to enact its little mysterious play.... Rabindranath is undoubtedly the greatest poet of modern India. His poetry is spirituality in verse.

Touched my heart. In fact we all are vulnerable, we all want to be loved. I see the baby as a face of every human being on this earth who loves and wants to be loved
