Baby Girl Poem by Jessica Henning

Baby Girl

Rating: 5.0

as you sit there holding the one youve been fearing
you notice a slight jolt of strength appearing

you know that deep down you have to keep her from harm
when you wake up to her cry your enlightened by her charm

you needed some one to make you feel needed
and who cares if you sound a bit concieded

you watch her as she sleeps at night
smiling because things went right

you laugh when she smiles at the glance of your face
and theres no reason in this world youd want to replace

when you see her father laughing with love
you know shes really a gift from above

when you watch her walk down the isle with a man on her arm
you know from that day on he'll keep her from harm

as they pass their vows and you wipe away your tears
you think of how good you did through all those years
