Awake Again Poem by Dorsey Baker

Awake Again

Between darkness and daybreak
It's horn loudly clanging!
It's wheels whistling
And whinning!
Comes a train
Through the small town
Awakening the small town people
Sounds like it's moving really fast
Breathing its lungs to death
As it comes
Rolling down the track
Through the small town
Between darkness
And daybreak
It shakes the small town people awake
Again and again
Just like an alarm clock
It's always on time!
