We all sit around the pool! ! With the muse of the season. Thanks for sharing.
I absolutely love autumn, my favorite season. And I find it inspires my poetry writing. There's is something about seasonal change which is intrinsically poetic. And autumn with the slow fading of foliage creates a sweet melancholy which is NOT depression but rather thoughtfulness, reverie, fulfillment. I can see some of these qualities in your poem but also two other things: interaction of people who delight in each other's company, the joy they feel is infectious; and the sudden sign that change has come in the last line THE WIND IS BLOWING HARDER.
I am playing with them too, And the statues in the garden; We all sit around the pool And the wind is blowing harder......amusing expression. A beautiful poem nicely executed.10
