Hi Agatha,
A beautiful poem on the vagaries of seasons and their impact on human life. Other animals and plants have their biological clocks intact and get their bodies and lifestyle adjusted to seasons easily. They go into hibernation or shed their foliage. But, man has developed problems, over time. And this is a problem of man. not the seasons.
The poem brings about this anguish in very vivid words:
I feel the autumn unfolding its tentacles
far and wide, across the land
like a hungry bird's wings encompassing
its cornered, frightened prey...
And then,
thunder roaring from another world
and flashes of light project
burning splashes of colours on the
blackened cheek of the sky,
revealing the troubled, and dark faces of
Autumn's saddest mourners!
Great poem. Loved reading. Congrats and 10.
