I like the way the fourth line of each stanza gives us an overview of the season, a general statement showing Autumn as a whole. But the first three lines gives us the specifics and we poets love to itemize those things that are humble in themselves but massed together make up the reality of our world: the first stanza is the appearance of the season, how we recognize it and hold its colors in our memories. The second shows how behaviors change necessarily with climate changes, and in the last stanza autumn has become virtually winter. But you close with a promise of spring in the far distance.
