By doctor and poetess: Hana Al-Qadhi
Translation from Arabic: Freeyad Ibrahim
In the Autumn
There is enough time to peer into deserted spaces
There is time for leisure and void a lot
How much do you and I resemble the Autumn!
The seasons have abandoned us
They left us alone with no companion left
***
O for the yellowness of the wind, and the grief of the tree!
Alas for the last breath of my colours!
As though the autumn, since the earliest youth, is the Fate
***
Mozart shares me the Autumn
His music is dancing in my waiting room
And while he bursts in his insane laughter
I let go the bouquets of the strong wishes to the wind
and to the slaughtered dreams
***
