Alice Springs s dry and hot
Then flew out to view Ayers Rock
Were told the Aboriginal stories and myths
That surround the great monoliths
We've seen the sunset and watched it rise
Watched the 'Rock' change colour before our eyes
But now we're flying further west
Landing in Cairns but still no rest
First the reef to swim with the fish
A better day we could not wish
A seafood buffet all laid on
My how quickly the day has gone
Next it's train and cable car
Rainforest and mountains up so far
Saw Aborigines dance and sing
Birds and butterflies on the wing
Now we're off for water fun
We're heading for a rafting run
It's down the rapids and through the rocks
Trying to avoid the knocks
Now we are ready to visit 'Mitch'
But first in Brisbane we will pitch
The tilt train is so dull and boring
To reach 'Marybrough' will take all morning
