At My Age Poem by Long Tooth

At My Age

At my age it's not uncommon,
Friends go missing, go to ground,
They might die or simply vanish,
Hard to know if they're around.

Brings to mind past conversations,
Who could guess they'd be the last?
Makes you wish there'd been more sharing,
Sometimes endings come to fast.

Women one could spend a life with,
Men you fished with dawn to dusk,
Gourmet meals you still remember,
Forest camps that smelled of musk.

What a path we humans wander,
Life's 'goals' can't be bought or sold,
'Purpose's' (if tried and trusted) ,
Alchemy turns rust to gold.

Come and join me precious children,
Share with Him your special needs,
Trust He always hears your story,
Let your faith give rise to deeds.
