At Last I Died Poem by MTHANDAZO SAMAL MKHWANANZI

At Last I Died

At last I died, my heart stopped beating,
My soul took flight, my body started retreating.
The pain and the sorrow, the tears and the strife,
All faded away, as I took my final life.

I died to the world, with all its noise and pain,
I died to the heartache, the love that went in vain.
I died to the memories, that haunted me for so long,
I died to the ghosts, that sang their sorrowful song.

But in death, I found peace, a calm and quiet sea,
A place where love and joy, were the only things that could be.
I found solace in the silence, a comfort in the still,
A sense of freedom from the burdens, that I'd carried for so long and fulfilled.

At last I died, but in death, I was reborn,
Into a world of beauty, where love is the only form.
I was free to fly, to soar on eagle's wings,
To leave the pain and sorrow, and find joy that truly clings.
