An unusual heaviness hung in the air

The dead weight of engulfing darkness pressed on
It was a fateful night, horrible and stark

This poem makes us emotional. We feel the time of Crucifixion. The photo tells about everything. " Finally the hour came for him to bear the cross On his way to Calvary, many followed him.." Jesus sacrificed for mankind. History witnessed the truth. For peaceful world Jesus has tried a lot and taught us many values. To an extreme betrayal he has forgiven in calm mind. This is excellently penned an amazing Biblical perceptive poem...10

Remarkable poem. Full of reverence and adoration for a great figure in the history of mankind. The last hours of his enormous sufferings and humanity's disgrace are described in heart-rending images conveying the horror of that moment very effectively. One man carrying the burden of whole mankind's sins on his shoulders...great tribute from you to his sacrifice. A plus.

Good Friday, without doubt is meant for celebration. Actual celebration really happens when a sinner repents of his sinful nature and accepts LORD Jesus Christ as his/her personal savior. For the God the Father sent HIS only SON (LORD JESUS CHRIST) unto earth to grant eternal life to those who believe in HIM. Thanks for the share Mam!

I can feel every word. so beautifully written. While the whole of his body sagged on three nails And his flesh, cut and peeled at every point He didn't scream in agony, but remained calm And a prayer escaped his parted lips 'Father forgive them, for they don't know What they are doing' Prayers and love is what they offer to the mankind. God forgive us, very touchy poem. god bless us all.10++++

And a prayer escaped His parted lips Father forgive them, for they don't know what they are doing Oh, and what a prayer at a time like that! One that only Jesus, Himself could've prayed. Thanks for sharing, Valsa, may you be blessed!

Many other such fictional characters have been portrayed through literature. The story is interesting and the poem is nicely written.
