Your poetry is some of the Best! Honest and emotional, straight forward but emotionally illustrative with familiar places and feelings comfortably accommodated by words- really touches my heart

Connecting poem about something we sometimes take for granted yet which ultimately determines our true states of belonging and feeling loved or feeling alienated and ostracized.

A great poem, yes, where our absence is not noted, is not my home.

Had to read this gem several times, Nika. Yes, home has a particular sound...How much of what is home, what is familiar makes us feel a certain way because of how those sounds...the particular laugh, the bubbling in the fish tank....make us feel. Perhaps sound is necessary for some sound homes? This one goes on myfavourites list.

Thanks Mj, much appreciated! I think you're onto something there. I think we as humans begin to attach emotions to things (like a certain sound) that hold special meaning for us.

It is a beautiful poem on home having stunning expression. In this poem the definations of home has been inscribed deeply. Dear Nika, you say, home is quiet, sincere, universal: it's quiet due to family's peace in spite of several storms. Thanks for sharing and congratulation for the poem of the day.
