Aspirations As A Life Goal Poem by Terence George Craddock

aspirations when aspiring to what?
listening to siren calls in the heart
or in the mind chasing aspired to goals

aspirations as a life goal
are they dreams are they hopes
are they ambitions to goal achieve?

dreams like clouds passing across the sky can be fleeting
hopes like snow ice in heat melting can expire dissolving
ambitions like night to day shift length in seasons differing

dreams hopes ambitions can have a use by date...

goals important can be like a bridge aching across a river
a river that must be crossed ambitions that must be achieved
goals target providing establishing a dominant life purpose

some lives slow drift in eddies swallows
some lives are oceanic currents going places
purpose direction covering vast distances

goals general insignificant goals short term goals future-focused

a goal to be a writer will not be achieved
writing a first or even several short stories
but this might be taking the first step or steps

goals can have deadlines or be open ended
goals progress at slow pace no pace varying paces
goals take off like a rocket or fizzle not launched

which goal would you choose at what pace
to travel and explore different cultures places
when for how long traveling coach first class?

to live in new cultures countries or tourist hops?
or inner journeys quests for happiness inner peace?
yoga meditation read a few books or spiritual lifestyles?

a goal to achieve personal growth define personal growth?

a goal to learn new skills as hobbies art or create opportunities
to climb social economic ladders a game snakes and ladders
to pursue passion to do what you love is it lifetime enduring?

to make a positive impact on the world then do not built
science killing machines weapons of war technologies
what is a positive impact on the world who achieves this?

goals are they type flight of fancy day dreams or dreams
pursued with sacrifice intensity like climbing Mt. Everest
dreams hype launched sinking like Titanic or moon landing?
