Ashes To Ashes Poem by Leanna Page Markgraf

Ashes To Ashes

Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust,
My hope is wearing thin
just like my trust.

You tell me you love me
yet I question that every night.
Afraid of the monster you become
and I'm tired of putting up a fight.

You think I am weak
and I cannot make it on my own.
I was fine before you
and I would be better off alone.

I cannot love someone
who can so easily abuse.
My love has turned to hate.
Now it's your turn to lose.

Ashes to ashes
dust to dust,
Today I am moving on
leaving you in disgust.
