I love this poem because instead of watching cats this winter, I was like the housed cat relaxing in my chair just watching the numerous birds outside my sunny picture window. I was mesmerized by watching them take turns coming to the feeders like planes landing at an airport. The colors of the bluebirds house finches and cardinals against the bright white snow were like splashes of colorful paint on a white canvas.
