Ascendance: Beyond The Pale Poem by Bryan Taplits

Ascendance: Beyond The Pale

The wisdom that we see down here is not what's above
Everything down here is a preface
To what-in the end- fits like a glove.
All that is known is what we've learned
-a towering hill seeming too bold to climb-
With a surface of hand-held treacheries,
each leaving us little more than signs.

She loved the vacation rides-
the swirl towards what's unknown-
That future which she could no longer control
when she glided away from her home,
Once more she saw her hereafter jaunt-
A flag, she eagerly unfurled-
Then her chariot hearkened up towards the sky,
Meeting her final sojourn-
As she greeted her final adventure.
