As Well As You Poem by Thomas Plotz

As Well As You

Swirls of Blue and Gold
Lassoed and laced
Stitched with love, and warmth
Into that knitted item

But I gave it away-

To a young little boy, shivering in winter gale
Snot running, down his nose
Looks of bewilderment and despair
With the winter wind blow

His Mother said, he lost the other

I gave him mine,
To keep him warm and safe,
A little help on this winter day

I did love what you made for me
But, I loved you more,

It didn't fit me, as well as you,
Not as well,
As you,
Did
