'the best writers have said very little and the worst, far too much.' - True! At the same time may I say, those who are meagrely-worded in speech, can be eloquently fluent in their writings. The vice-versa is also true. Often the verbose speeches are misleading; the writings, seldom!

I mean has any one written a poem on behalf of Covid or an alien arriving. A suns ray from when it takes off from the sun to reach us. A poem about a poem. We tend to limit our scope to interpersonal relationships. Dream imagine go wild and i reckon you cant run of poetry. And then also mix reality with fantasy. Laugh. Humour is a great source of poetry

Yup. Thats right. Going round in square circles so to speak. As usual being a smart alleck i differ in opinion. What causes poets to have nothing to say is our self imposed limit of imagination and our desire to tell only personal stories and being politically correct. As poets we should be free to offend and amend. Wear some one else shoe etc.

It.s a true message of a Poet who has started compose many poems to achieve something remarkable but cannot do so even after writing thousands of poems on all subjects! Indeed one who says too much, has nothing as fact on the platter! Thanks for sharing this as reminder to many!

I totally agree with the above and add that it's not the quantity but the quality of whatever one has created whether it be poetry, prose or other works of art which determines what one will be remembered by and how people have related to it.

The man playing from the little radio begs for the words his piano is speaking, and someone, in rain or shine, through the ages has to try to say it. We just keep trying to get it right, until we leave...

He's seems to question the value or intent or impact his work has created. I enjoy the succinctness of this poem.
