The green leaves liven the tree when they are green, But unnoticing they fall and roll on dust When they become grey. Death is the cruel fact of life.We have to accept it. A good write, thanks for sharing.

Light and dark...day and night...positive and negative...that is the way the whole creation is....of two opposites.... we should accept it and wisely lead the life....very truthful words crafted into a good poem...congratulations on the poet of the day

Life is so cruel....at times it tempts us to question our own existence, it takes to an height and kicks you down! Yes we all have seen it! Life, a treacherous friend!

The most important thing that I have noticed the case of green leaves when it is in good shape but unnoticed when it is fall. A great theory to the context of aged and ailing individuals no one is ready to look after. The poet here observes the life in its importance and sad thing of affairs happening and I love the poem with due importance.

This is so true Amitava! When we laugh, the world laughs with us, when we cry, we cry alone! This is the painful truth...! No one can do anything about it... We blame the world for it.... But aren't we also the same.... having the same attitude...? Let us have an introspection..... How many of us can truly delight in another's triumph and share another's pain.....? A moving write! !

.........yes we think alike....just recently I was thinking of the leaves on a tree are so much like family and friends....when they fall to the ground...it is like family and friends leaving us slowly one by one....like your poem it is sad to see the tree standing bare without the leaves.....great write..

Thus when you can People will extract the utmost from you But the moment you are undone Mostly they will desert you. This life itself is so cruel As mostly we all see. Your poem is a mirror we all face this cruelty.

This is a heartfelt realistic poem reflecting upon life and some of its cruelty, But we are also blessed for being provided with beautiful tokens of creation! Trees, for me, for example are a magnificent source of inspiration! I have also enjoyed your simile/comparison while mentioning the leaves of the tree, when they are green and when they are grey... Thanks very much for sharing it, Amitava!

Wow! Such a poignant poem, Amitava. Also, so totally true to life as we know it here on earth. Why indeed shedding and wasting tears for no one who stays in life, taking and giving nothing in return. You are a wise man, Amitava. Yes, life can be so cruel, yet we live it anyway until it's end. A sad truth. Thank you for your poem of wisdom, it's words resonate and shine into my mind now. RoseAnn
