As I Watch Her Eyes Move Poem by Matt Render

As I Watch Her Eyes Move

I'm calm
And I'm patient
As I watch her eyes move
I have a heartbeat and
A silent sigh
That can completely disarm you
You'd never notice
The things happening
Skin deep
As I watch her eyes move
When her fingers dance
My face twitches
As she fidgets in her seat
Closer to the sleeve
Of my friend at arms length
Their smiles meet
Their teeth reflecting
Blood red heat
Into my sweating hands
But I'm completely calm
In their minds
As I watch her eyes move
And i feel trouble brewing
Surely I could murder
My very own brother
I could kill
My only friend
My only lover
As I watch her eyes move.
