As I Am Poem by Nidhi Agrawal

As I Am

Rating: 4.5

What was given, I loved
What was taken, I've forsaken
What was dealt, I played
What was withheld, I waited.
What mattered, I did
What didn't, I left.
I couldn't do more
than what I've done
I couldn't love more
than before.
I tried no more
to please some one
Those who love me
accept this once.
I won't reach back
will stay in the present
Those who love me
will respect the distance.

Sounds like you did what you could, when you could. And maintain your self respect.

Yes, it's not only about doing one's duty, but about maintaining one's identity and respect.
