Variety, we know, is life’s flavouring spice And all seasons have their beauty and grace But each has its own distress and decrement And the only way to be happy is to be content......so touching and true. This is a beautiful poem on Autumn having thrilling expression. Thanks for sharing.

In 2015, winter begins on December 21,11: 48 P.M. EST. Get more information about the winter solstice below. (this refers to the Eastern U.S.) i grew up in New York state and i was surprised to see online the above sentence. i think of winter as starting sooner! SO, i guess blizzards*** could occur in the Fall/Autumn! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ***bliz·zard ˈblizərd/ noun noun: blizzard; plural noun: blizzards a severe snowstorm with high winds and low visibility. synonyms: snowstorm, whiteout, snow squall, snowfall; nor'easter, northeaster an overabundance; a deluge. a blizzard of legal forms - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - favorite lines, so far (and it’s not just because it mentions my favorite type of animal!) : “The trees are stripped of all their leaves And many a bird, deprived of its arbour, grieves” ………..and nice job using the commas. ;) “But each has its own distress and decrement And the only way to be happy is to be content” “decrement” (see below, and above) is a new word for me (I think) . I guess I understand its use here, though I believe many (especially in snowy-icy winter areas) would say winter and summer are the most severe in their pros and cons. as for “the only way to be happy is to be content”………. I LIKE THAT. I sometimes say I’m (almost) never “happy”, BUT I’m (almost) always “content”. :) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - “dec•re•ment ˈdekrəmənt/ noun noun: decrement; plural noun: decrements 1. 1. a reduction or diminution. relaxation produces a decrement in sympathetic nervous activity o an amount by which something is reduced or diminished. the dose was reduced by 10 mg weekly decrements o Physics the ratio of the amplitudes in successive cycles of a damped oscillation. verb Computing verb: decrement; 3rd person present: decrements; past tense: decremented; past participle: decremented; gerund or present participle: decrementing 1. 1. cause a discrete reduction in (a numerical quantity) . the instruction decrements the accumulator by one “ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - nice rhyming (overall) and well-told closing and opening of two seasons. very graphic! this shall adorn (as multi-coloured/colored leaves adorn Autumn’s deciduous trees) Section B of my/our November’s “a showcase for PH poets”. thanks. bri :) bon voyage!

An autumn harvest that many of us cannot see in real has been well portrayed here. As the canvas is fair and the sketches are clear who else can be behind it than the one and only Valsa George.

It's truly Wordsworthian poem. a message through Nature. Nature is the part of our spiritual being and teaches us lessons.

Cool is the wind that blows in soft hum And leaves fall with the bee’s thrum When they fall curling in hundreds down In a deluge of colors, the lands drown how the words weave the magic spell of autumn! the last stanza is great wisdom.
