When I was a Child
I was curious and wild,
But, then I was cornered and caught
I was then shown and taught,
Sometimes I was obnoxious and mean
Then I became a terrible teen.
As a teen I knew that I was smarter
With my judgment I would always barter,
I would never follow the simple rules
I thought everyone else was fools,
Of course with other teens I was in a cult
Then I became an adult.
As an adult I look back at my mistakes
Sometimes they bring me heartaches,
Of the stupid things that had I said and done
And the many times away from common sense I did run.
Now when I look at my child everyday
I still remember what my mom would do, she'd pray.
