Artemis Poem by Petra Novakova

Artemis

Sacrifice to the goddess of hunt if you seek game
Worship the patron of archery to keep your aim
She roams the realms seeking monsters to slay
With her golden staff each fight is a child´s play

Basking in the reflection of the sun on the moon
A golden bow and golden arrows in her hand
With golden fist the virgin maiden rules the land
A golden crown sat firmly upon her golden hair

On the sixth day of the eleventh month borne
She rules over the world from her golden throne
With seven golden hounds running by her side
From her companions no man nor god can hide

Even cyclops bow to her and serve her faithfully
Heroes fear her wrath and admire her bravery
When she walks the path of golden mystery
Golden petals blossom amongst the greenery

She poisons the heart of men with her beauty
Her flames devour their souls in a blaze of fury
Beware the mistress of beasts on a killing spree
Fear the queen of wilderness for she is truly free
