In my mind,

Excellen poem, David... it is clear from the many comments you receive... you are very good with words. It seems men are arrogant... women just lose their inhibitions!
Interesting piece this one. On the one hand I actually find arrogance quite appealing (strange as it seems) , on the other, mixed with alcohol it can have quite a different effect. And you've demonstrated this marvellously. HG: -) xx
Oh dear! I think I met you the other night. Spoke very eloquently - it's just that every other word was 'f*****g'. Pity he didn't have your self awareness (when sober) ! Good and self-deprecating as always. Fx
Another very good piece quite complex analysis of a very familar situation thanks Nik
An image rich piece of self-evaluation here David - how we perceive and how others perceive us. Striking contrasts and hidden depths amongst this vivid piece of introspection j x
a shark...Testing vibrations While waiting for prey... i like this imagery very much even if sober :)
i know this situation well. no concept of self. a great one.
Yes booze does make us do and say all sort of both stupid and painfully true things sometimes David and I do agree, it is amazing we never remember how appauling we were the night before! Great fun, letting your hair down occasionally though huh? Not sure about the title, as being arrogantly drunk doesn't really define the arrogance of some in my minds eye, but it does suit the drunk for sure. Nice to read some poetry dealing with real issues of modern life, smiling at you, soberer than any Judge! lol Tai
There's a lot more to this clever piece than meets the eye, if one chooses to take it. I'm glad I'm going through a sober period. t x
For people to understand what makes us the way we become, they have to listen with there eyes...not just their ears. Just a pitty my eyes see double some days :) Great poem... all the best J.L
Years ago I had a friend who worked as a copywriter with me...he would always call late at night to tell me he had come up with the perfect format for our clients. I used to go to bed trusting he did, only to find out the next morning that he had been drunk and then forgot to write it down....
