Are You Bored? Poem by M. A Heathcote

Are You Bored?

Love incorporates a tear to drown me.
Like wild cherry blossom spiralling down
Love has a smokeless flame and wants to devour me.
Charred embers, like magic, awaken to scald me.

Are you bored? Are you fed up with me?
I give you no apology.
Who do you want me to be?
I could shake all of you.
And watch the cherry blossom spiralling down.
I could sway like a smokeless flame.
And devour you at arm's length.

Love precipitates. We hurt, but find faith to start again.
Love puts us at liberty to dance in the clouds.
And wear a wedding dress as a party dress
Love tells us to shine, whatever the mess.

Are you bored? Are you fed up with me?
I give you no apology.
Who do you want me to be?
I could shake all of you.
And watch the cherry blossom spiralling down.
I could sway like a smokeless flame.
And devour you all at arm's length.

Love is a tidal wave, so venture out and get wet.
Love is a starlit night with bated breath.
With dew-lit kisses and melting snowdrops on your tongue
Love is an opening flower kissed in a rain shower.

Are you bored? Are you fed up with me?
I give you no apology.
Well, I guess you haven't heard a beating heart.
How beats even louder in the dark.
How it lights a spark
How blossoms form from the ground
It doesn't matter how long you've been waiting.
