Archiving The Hurt Poem by Phil Soar

Archiving The Hurt

I've archived all that Hurt my heart
The loves I lost, that played a part
The memories of those days gone by
The ifs and buts that made me cry

I've hidden all that stalled my fate
And thoughts that I can't contemplate
It froze the times when I had doubt
And multiplied what I'm about

Without somewhere to store these things
And all the turmoil thinking brings
My mind would torment all I've done
And I'd not be the only one

I'm sure that many loves flew by
And in the twinkling of an eye
I'd lose myself and fall again
Increasing all the hurt and pain

So in the future, as time goes by
When someone else has caught my eye
Perhaps there will be hopes and dreams
And the past will just be all it seems
